Flight Tournament
A Flight Tournament is a popular Poker format that consists of several ‘opening’ tournaments, where the winners of each of these tournaments continue to the finals.
Each opening tournament is referred to as a ‘Day 1’ tournament. Players who reach a certain position in the tournament will be reserved a seat at the main event, which takes place on a separate day and is referred to as a ‘Day 2’ tournament. The players can win prizes only from the main “Day 2” event.
Note that the players cannot register directly for “Day 2”. They can only enter from qualifying in one of the Day 1 tournaments. The number of entries a player is allowed in the “Day 2” event depends on the tournament configuration:
- In case of a multi-entry tournament, the player can have as many active registrations for each “Day 1” event as the number of allowed entries for “Day 2”.
- In case of a tournament that does not allow multi-entry, the player can have only one active registration per “Day 1” event.
The prize pool of the tournament is formed from the buy-ins (and re-buys and add-ons if there are such) of all “Day 1” events and updates runtime, depending on the number of participants in all “Day 1” events.
The Flight tournaments are supported in the Download Desktop, Native Mobile, and Web clients.
RULES
The Flight tournaments are poker events played over two different days. They consist of multiple “Day 1” tournaments (“Day 1A”, “Day 1B”, “Day 1C”, etc.) and one main “Day 2” tournament. Your goal, as a player, is to survive through the respective “Day 1” event in order to qualify for the main “Day 2” tournament and win a prize.
The prize pool of the tournament is formed from the buy-ins (and re-buys and add-ons if there are such) of all “Day 1” events and updates runtime, depending on the number of participants in all “Day 1” events.
When the tournament begins, all registered players start competing in any of the “Day 1” opening flights. All “Day 1” flights have a predefined number of levels. The players who manage to survive through all levels of the opening flight are qualified, with their remaining chip stack, for the main “Day 2” flight. Once you qualify for the “Day 2” event, you should be available to start playing at the start date and time of “Day 2”, as you cannot unregister.
Be aware that the players cannot register directly for “Day 2”. The number of entries with which a player can participate in “Day 2” of the Flight tournament depends on the tournament configuration.
- In case of a multi-entry tournament, the player can have as many active registrations for each “Day 1” event as the number of allowed entries for “Day 2”.
- In case of a tournament that does not allow multi-entry, the player can have only one active registration per “Day 1” event.
In addition, depending on the tournament configuration, the players may be allowed to participate in "Day 1" events even after qualifying for the main event for a chance to qualify with more chips.
- If the tournament is set with the Best Stack Forward (BSF) functionality, the players qualify for the main “Day 2” event with their highest entry.
- If the tournament is set with Stack Builder functionality, the players participate in the main "Day 2" event with a combined total number of chips built up from all qualifying "Day 1" events.
